FIS NORDIC WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Nordic Ski World Championships 1991 in Val di Fiemme represent a new and bright chapter in the history of ski events. For the first time in the history, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships were held in the south of the Alps. Thanks to radio, newspapers and television, the whole world was able to take part in the event, making Val di Fiemme known all over the world.

“The event exceeded all expectations. We were worried... for the first time the Nordic Ski World Championships were being held on the south side of the Alps, virtually in the Mediterranean area and in Trentino, were lemon trees blossoms and olive tree grow in summer" cit Giorgio Tononi, president OC Fiemme 1991.
