Vice president Dezulian and volunteers Coordinator Piazzi: a reward for decades of work ‘This award is a further stimulus to continue the journey towards Milano Cortina’

There was a special-occasion’s atmosphere in the morning at Palazzo Giustiniani in Rome, with the headquarters of the Presidency of the Senate of the Italian Republic welcoming the representatives of the Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme organising committee for the presentation of the 2024 ‘Testimone del Volontariato’ (volunteering baton) award.

The prestigious recognition that annually awards those who distinguish themselves in the field of volunteering, representing a significant example and stimulus at local and national level, reaches Trentino Alto Adige thanks to Val di Fiemme and Anterselva, realities of certified value that stand out in the panorama of Nordic skiing and biathlon.

Receiving the precious commemorative plaque of the 2024 ‘Testimone del Volontariato’ for Val di Fiemme delivered by the President of the Prize Natalina Lombardo, were the Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme committee delegates Mauro Dezulian and Martina Piazzi. ‘This recognition is a reward for the decades of work of Val di Fiemme and all the collaborators who have been at our side for so many years’ declared the Vice president Dezulian, with the volunteers Coordinator Martina Piazzi adding that ‘the 2024 ‘Testimone del Volontariato’ is a significant milestone for Val di Fiemme and represents a further stimulus to continue our journey towards the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games of Milano Cortina. It fills us with pride to be able to return to Val di Fiemme with this plaque, which gives us the opportunity to once again emphasise the importance of the work carried out by our volunteers, confident that our consolidated team will be able to strengthen and thicken with new recruits in view of the Olympic commitments’. The South Tyrolean Senator Meinhard Durnwalder and Trentino MP Vanessa Cattoi, among others, were also present in Sala Zuccari.

Val di Fiemme's journey towards the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games of Milano Cortina continues with renewed enthusiasm after the handing over of the ‘Testimone del Volontariato’ , capable of underlining with simplicity the commitment and dedication of hundreds of people united by their passion for sport at the service of the great events in Val di Fiemme.

And, as the commemorative plaque states, ‘volunteering in sport...for a Winter Olympics full of warmth’, the warmth that runs through the veins of the people of Fiemme and Trentino who will demonstrate their passion for sport and their territory at Milano Cortina 2026 and beyond.
