In Val di Fiemme the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Paralympics Test Event

4 days of races between biathlon (January 29-30) and Para cross-country skiing (February 1-2)

In Lago di Tesero almost 300 athletes from more than 20 different nations to test tracks and services

Team manager Marchetti and Italian national team athletes present the event in view of the Three Agitos

The appointment with the 2026 Milano Cortina Paralympic Winter Games is getting closer and closer and this week Val di Fiemme, which will award as many as 39 medals in the top sports event, is preparing to host the Para biathlon and cross-country skiing Test Events.

On Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 of January, the Para biathlon races will be staged, while on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 of February, the Para cross-country skiing races will take place, involving athletes from 24 and 18 nations respectively, with almost 300 cross-country skiers and biathletes at the start. The setting will be the Cross-Country Stadium in Lago di Tesero, the future Olympic and Paralympic venue that this winter season is testing facilities, tracks and putting the solid team of volunteers and local operators to the test. The Test Events in Val di Fiemme are organised by the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 with the valuable support of the local Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme committee, which, as event general manager Giovanni Plano recalled, ‘has been fundamental in setting up these Test Events. In the area of Fiemme, this team does a job with impressive professionalism and experience'. In view of the Para Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing World Cup appointments hosted in Val di Fiemme, there is much enthusiasm among the ranks of the Italian national team coordinated by team manager Paolo Marchetti with, among others, Giuseppe Romele, Michele Biglione and Giuseppe Spatola to give appointment to the Test Events of the Tre Agitos events full of healthy agonism, desire to give their all and to honour the Cup appointment on the home tracks that anticipates the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.

It is worth mentioning that on the day off from the World Cup appointments, Friday January 31, on the tracks of Lago di Tesero, Lieutenant Colonel Gianfranco Paglia will attempt to set the record for the two-hour distance for a person with tetraplegia, an event more unique than rare to shed light on Paralympic sports in an area with such a strong sporting tradition as Val di Fiemme.
