The appointment with next September’s Rollerski World Championship in Val di Fiemme has already entered the agendas of the best interpreters of the discipline, with the locality in Trentino preparing to be the uncontested protagonist of the crowded 2024 calendar.
From 12th to 15th September in Val di Fiemme, not only will the prestigious world titles be up for grabs, but also the final classifications of the 2024 World Cup will be drawn up in what will become a double party for athletes, experts and fans, under the banner of the dazzling World Championship medals and the World Cup trophies.
In the Italian team, the adrenaline for the start of the roller-skiing season grows more and more, as the national team is one of the more praised on the international scene. Moreover, the official announcement by FISI of the teams for the upcoming season, has given a further boost to the enthusiasm in the environment. For the intense 2024 summer, there are 22 athletes in three different formations: team A, Youth team and Sprint team. If the first two, as is easily imaginable, groups together the Élite and Junior athletes, the third represents a novelty for the Italian team and stems from the Sprint Cup assignment within the World Cup circuit to which FISI has chosen to dedicate a related section in the staff.
Tommaso Dellagiacoma, Giovanni Lorenzetti, Riccardo Lorenzo Masiero, Matteo Tanel, Maria Eugenia Boccardi, Stefania Corradini, Elisa Segafredo and Elisa Sordello: they are the “magnificent eight” of team A, joined by Sprinter Emanuele Becchis, holder of the Sprint Cup, Michele Valerio and Alba Mortagna. Nourishing the Youth team, instead, are Carlo Cantaloni, Francesco Chiaradia, Stefano Epis, Davide Piccinini, Tommaso Tozzi, Chiara Agostinetto, Vanessa Cagnati, Camilla Crippa, Anna Maria Ghiddi, Maria Invernizzi and Anna Morandini.
Leader of the Italian expedition to the World Championship in Val di Fiemme will be Tommaso Dellagiacoma, who last season triumphed in the World Cup conquering the most coveted trophy, celebrating among the tracks of Ziano di Fiemme and the ramps of the iconic Alpe Cermis. The technical direction of the Italian team has been entrusted to Emanuele Sbabo who will be supported by a staff of experts and technicians.
The Italian national team will be occupied in the World Cup from 17th to 21st July with the Madona stage (Latvia), and before arriving in Val di Fiemme for mid-September will be passing through Schuchinsk, from 14th to 18th August (Kazakhstan). Without forgetting the Nextpro Italian Cup season, which will occupy the athletes from June to October.
Mass Start FT, Individual Sprint, Team Sprint and the ever-present Cermis Mass Start-Uphill: From 12th to 15th September in Val di Fiemme, there will be no lack of opportunities to cheer for the Italian athletes and enjoy a great sporting show, set up thanks to the expertize of the Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme Organising Committee.
