It will be a quartet of world-class days in Val di Fiemme from September 12th to 15th, when the valley will host for the third time the Rollerski World Championships.

More than 200 athletes from as many as 32 nations are expected at the top international “summer cross-country skiing” competition. Very much watched will be the host Italian team, as well as the athletes from Kazakhstan, with whom the Italian team is competing for victory in the ranking for nations, as well as Sweden of the prodigious Linn Sömskar and Johanna Holmberg and Latvia of this season's star racer Raimo Vigants. Between Ziano di Fiemme and Alpe Cermis, the world's best roller-skiers will compete also from Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland and Ukraine, and from the “exotic” Kenya, Trinidad and Tobago, Taipei, Morocco and Mongolia.

Italy will be the most supported line-up and the most numerous with 25 athletes summoned by TD Sbabo, followed by Slovenia with 18 and Germany with 17 roller-skiers ready to play for the coveted world titles up for grabs, with the races in Trentino also valid as the final stage of the 2024 Rollerski World Cup season.

For the Italian team, 15 seniors will take to the track with Tommaso Dellagiacoma and Nicole Monsorno leading the Italian expedition, accompanied by Stefania Corradini, Maria Eugenia Boccardi, Elisa Sordello, Alba Mortagna and Lisa Bolzan for the women’s team and Matteo Tanel, Riccardo Lorenzo Masiero, Emanuele and Francesco Becchis, Michele Valerio, Alessio Berlanda, Giovanni Lorenzetti and Jacopo Giardina for the men’s team. The “veteran” Berlanda will return to the national team to grab a World Champion medal and at the 2024 World Championships he will be the most 'experienced' athlete: 29 years and 10 months separates him (September 29, 1979) from the youngest roller-skier in the race, the Estonian born Stefan Kivil (July 29, 2009). Anna Maria Ghiddi, Maria Invernizzi, Anna Morandini, Camilla Crippa and Chiara Agostinetto will be lined up for the junior team, and among the males Stefano Epis, Tommaso Tozzi, Francesco Chiaradia, Davide Piccinini and Carlo Cantaloni.

Roller-skiing is clearly reconfirmed as a universal discipline that can be practiced in every corner of the world and by all types of athletes: the one in Val di Fiemme will be a high-level world event, set up by the expert Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme committee led by president Pietro De Godenz.

In the rich program of world events on Thursday 12th it will be the Mass Start in free technique in Ziano di Fiemme that will kick off the Championships, while on Friday 13th it will be the turn of the dynamic Sprint FT to award the titles of the speciality. On Saturday 14th the Team Sprint, also in free technique, will see the national teams compete in pairs of two athletes, while on Sunday 15th it will be the turn of the Uphill Mass Start “Cermis Final Climb,” with the iconic ascent to Alpe Cermis in classic technique to bring the curtain down on the World Championships.
